It’s forty years this year since Barry Sheene won the first of his two consecutive World Championships. To mark this anniversary, Barry’s actual Suzuki RG500 race bikes from 1976 and 1977 will be on display at this year’s Barry Sheene Festival at Oliver’s Mount from 23-24 July 2016.
The bikes normally reside in Australia where Barry lived after his retirement from motorcycle racing in 1984 but have been shipped to the UK where they are scheduled to appear in a number of events.
The festival is being supported by Suzuki GB and a selection of classic Suzuki road bikes will also be on display, including the Suzuki GSX-R 750F restored during last year’s Motorcycle Live show and the Suzuki TL1000S built entirely from brand new parts the previous year in order to showcase Suzuki’s Vintage Parts Service.
